LITTLE Lever have called in Indian Test player Iqbal Siddiqui for Saturday's home game against Westhoughton.

The Victory Road side are without Sajeewa Desilva, who has been called up for Sri Lanka's game against Glamorgan in Cardiff and a frantic search round the leagues for an available replacement brought Iqbal to their attention.

He lines up in a game that both sides will want to take maximum points from to boost their standing in the league table.

Meanwhile leaders Horwich take on a Kearsley side looking to lift themselves away from their uncharacteristic lowly position.

Kearsley have only one win to their credit so far this season but they will relish the task against an unbeaten Horwich side that has scored four wins out of six with one of those completely washerd out.

The battle as Horwich batsmen David White and Grant Long face the bowling threat of Kearsley pro Akber and Mel Whittle will be an interesting confrontation but much will also depends on the like of Dave Leonard and Andy Taylor.

Kearsley's Leonard has been among the runs and could prove a handful for the Horwich bowlers while the all round versatility of Taylor has done much to lift the Ramsbottom Road men to the top of the table.

There looks little joy in store for bottom of the table Farnworth as they travel to face a Walkden side brimming with confidence and runs.

And Eagley too will want to find a quick remedy to their poor scoring in last week's game against Westhoughton although they will be looking to field a much stronger side when they entertain neighbours Egerton.

Heaton pro Narendra Hirwani is showing good form and could test the Tonge batsmen, although the Lower Pools side could do with a little more strength in depth in their bowling if they are to make an impression against the second placed side's strong batting line-up.

Bradshaw will look forward to the challenge of an Astley Bridge side currently in fourth spot and Farnworth SC will see the visit of Greenmount as a good chance to move away from third bottom place.
