A good weekend for the clarion. The main ride were off to the Yorkshire dales for the weekend and despite a damp start the ride over to Linton proved to be most enjoyable.
After lots of climbing came the highlight of the day, the run down the Littondale valley, well worth the effort, a cyclists dream.
A brief stop in the quiet village of Arncliffe then the easy ride continued past the impressive overhang of Kilnsey Crag on the way to Grassington.
The return journey was also excellent, plenty of warm sunshine with soft breezes, just the weather for donning shorts.
The race section claimed new personal bests for Sally Roy and Paul Dickinson. Paul now joins Andy Horner as our second rider to beat the hour for twenty five miles. Both rode in Cheshire on Sunday afternoon, Andy recording 58mins.34secs. and Paul coming in with 59mins.59secs.
Sally brought down her time for ten miles to 27mins 16secs. on a tough evening on the Levens course, wind and rain hampering most riders. In the same event Ken Bath recorded 26mins.15secs.
