THE Bishop of Liverpool has emerged as the "people's choice" to be the next Archbishop of Canterbury, says a poll.
Rt Rev James Jones topped a survey of worshippers, for the Church of England Newspaper, capturing 32 per cent of the vote by 1,033 clergy and churchgoers quizzed.
Dr George Carey's replacement will be chosen by the Crown Appointments Commission in a few weeks.
