Adlington are looking forward to a handsome pay day after the Lancashire Knockout draw paired them with neighbouring Northern League side Chorley.
The two sides have not met in a competetive fixture for something like 20 years and a bumper crowd is expected at Adlington's ground.
No date has yet been arranged for the game which came about after Adlington beat Atherton by five wickets and Chorley overcame Leigh by the same margin. Now Adlington are hoping to complete a giantkilling act on their illustrious neighbours and have called on local support to cheer them on.
Nick Chamberlain, secretary of Adlington said: "We were always hoping to get Chorley because it's a local derby and it will attract a big crowd.
"It's obvious that we will start as underdogs but with a little bit of support and some luck you never know what can happen."
