A TASTE of India will be coming to Bolton tomorrow for the whole town to enjoy.
A community Hindu festival is being held in the grounds of Bolton Indians Sport and Recreation Club at Hacken Lane, Darcy Lever.
Organised by the Bolton Hindu Forum, it is open from 10am to 5pm.
More than 5,000 people are expected to attend the festival, which has been organised to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee and the Commonwealth Games.
Visitors will be given a chance to experience all aspects of Indian culture.
The bazaar will include stage performances in traditional and modern Indian dance, music and a fashion show.
There will be a variety of stalls and workshops featuring Asian foods, novelties and arts.
The event is being supported by Bolton Council's education and culture department.
Bolton Hindu Forum is an umbrella organisation of the 22 local Hindu groups. Everyone of all ages is invited to attend and admission is free.
Any proceeds from the festival will be used to set up new community projects or support existing schemes. A donation will also be made to a children's charity in Bolton.
A full report and pictures will appear in Monday's Bolton Evening News.
