ROD Wallace has emerged as a hot favourite to replace Gillingham's jailed striker Marlon King.
The Bolton Wanderers striker will be out of contract at The Reebok Stadium next month and is reported to have already held talks with the Gills.
Wayne Jones, the Kent club's coach, has officially admitted his club's interest in the former Rangers and Leeds striker.
He said: "We have done our homework on him. He is a good character, and if we are going to be without Marlon, then he would provide experience and hopefully the goals."
