FRANCE's World Cup hopes of retaining their title were dealt a heavy blow by news that Zinedine Zidane will miss their first two games.
French Football Federation head Claude Simonet this afternoon confirmed the extent of the thigh injury sustained by the world's best player in France's warm-up win over South Korea.
Now Zidane will sit out the opener against Senegal, and the crucial second Group A fixture against Uruguay.
