WANDERERS fans in Scotland rounded off a terrible year for Manchester United fans when the teams met in a seven-a-side match in Glasgow.
The Scottish Superwhites ran out comfortable 6-1 winners in the challenge match which was played in a good atmosphere.
Four goal hero Paul Greenhalgh said: "It was a great game, really close in the first half but in the second our extra skill and fitness told and we ran them ragged.
"We were determined not to lose against our biggest rivals and it was especially pleasing when you consider the Glasgow MUFC Supporters' Club has over 100 members to chose from."
United Glasgow spokesman David Sharkey said: "We all thought we were going to win the Champions League in Glasgow - we can't even win a friendly game of seven-a-side there!"
The fans now plan to challenge local sides Celtic and Rangers to matches.
