TWO of the Wanderers coaching staff have been selected by the Football Association to undertake pioneering training courses.
Assistant Manager Phil Brown and first team coach Neil McDonald are set to go on exclusive courses to work with some of the world's best coaches. Brown was approached by the FA to go on a two-year coaching/management course which is only available to selected coaches in the Premiership.
Brown will be sent out on secondment to spend time at top clubs around the world and he will also look at how top international coaches practise their trade.
He will visit top clubs such as Juventus, Barcelona and AC Milan to see how they utilise coaching methods.
Brown said: "It's a great honour to be selected. I'd like to thank Sam Allardyce for giving me the opportunity to achieve the level of coaching required to be invited on this course.
"Many of the country's top coaches including Dario Gradi, Dave Jones, Alan Curbishley, Mervyn Day, Sammy Lee and Chris Hughton will be on the course with me."
McDonald will embark on an educational package run by the FA which, when he qualifies, will make him one of the most qualified coaches operating in the Premiership.
