A CONMAN cheated people out of money by claiming he was using football cards to raise cash for two youth soccer teams.
Bernard Seaborn, aged 61, of Harvey Longworth Court, in Crawshawbooth, Rossendale, said he would pass the money on to the Bury Rangers and Whitefield Colts under-16s teams.
At Bury magistrates court, Seaborn pleaded guilty to going equipped to cheat. He was made the subject of a 12-month community rehabilitation order and told to attend a Think First course. He was ordered to pay £118 court costs.
