DISABLED anglers were today waiting to find out if an application for a 100-peg fishing lake would get the go-ahead.
Councillors on Bolton's planning committee were due to decide whether or not to allow it be built on a site off Bradshaw Road.
Bolton Civic Trust, council wood land officers and landscape architects have all raised objections. They say the work could have a negative impact on the environment.
Bradshaw Hall Fisheries Ltd, which submitted the application, is supported by the National Federation of Anglers, the Environment Agency and the British Disabled Angling Association.
These groups, and others, say the site would provide a much needed facility for disabled people.
The application includes 102 car parking spaces and a plan to form an artificial fishing canal.
