A CHORLEY Citizen prize-winner is set to make her television debut on BBC One's Saturday Show this weekend as she sings her heart out.

Jade Williams, 15, of Pear Tree Avenue, Coppull, has been performing around the house for a number of years, but only recently realised that she had a good pair of lungs and began entering competitions.

One of which was The Citizen's talent contest last year at the Pines Hotel, Clayton-le-Woods, where Jade sang 'Killing Me Softly' and walked away with second prize.

Now the songstress, who is a pupil at Southlands High School, Clover Road, is getting ready to inspire the nation with her appearance on the Saturday morning entertainment programme.

Jade said: "I only found out last Friday and I'm so excited I told everybody at school about the competition, where callers ring up to vote for their favourite. I hope everyone in Chorley rings in for me."

Jade will perform All Rise by boy-band Blue with three other hopefuls.

"I'm travelling up to Glasgow with my mum on Friday after school and we get picked up by a chauffeur and taken to a hotel.

"The studios are just across from the hotel so I won't have to get up too early on Saturday morning," said Jade.

Aspiring performer Jade loves Whitney Houston and hopes to follow in her footsteps, but at the moment she is focusing on her school work as well working towards her GCSEs which she will take next year.

"I'd love to do anything to do with performing arts and I want to study at college and university. This is really exciting for me though and I'll get to sit with the celebrities before and after I perform," said Jade.

Her sister Ashlei, 13, and brother Sebastian, ten, will be watching at home from 9.30am waiting to see their big sister belt out her song.

So Chorley will have to tune-in and get voting on Saturday morning as Jade lights up the stage.
