ALBUM: Various - Punk: The Jubilee

Out Monday, Virgin

THE Virgin boys have been busy again, but surely a compilation of punk music must include Sid Vicious/Johnny Rotten and the gang!

That's not to say there aren't good tracks here. Take The Undertones' Teenage Kicks, Iggy Pop's Lust For Life, The Stranglers with Peaches and The Ramones' Sheena is a Punk Rocker.

But where are the Sex Pistols? It's like having bread and butter -- but without the bread. Out Monday.

ALBUM: The Supernaturals: What We Did Last Summer

THIS is Pet Shop Boys meets Beach Boys -- when they're both having bad days.

Keyboards and harmonies aside, there is a hint of The Beatles in Elle and a touch of Cornershop in What We Did Last Summer.

Life is a Motorway has a German Village People feel, while Two Songbirds reminded me of a keyboard version of Lennon's Imagine.

It's not bad, but it would annoy you after a while. Not one you could listen to again and again. Out Monday.

SINGLE: Anastacia -- Boom

Out June 10, Sony

ALTHOUGH this isn't out for a while, as it's the official World Cup song, I thought it appropriate to take a look now.

Anastacia's awesome voice is unmistakable as we take an equally unmistakable American look at the World Cup -- i.e. they haven't got a clue. Remember Diana Ross's "penalty" in the 1994 opening ceremony?

In typical "go team" high-five style, we hear about the under-rated, and giving it 100 per cent. Remember, it's not the winning that counts. Yeah, right.
