A MAN was in a serious condition in hospital today after being stabbed.

The 28-year-old, who has not been named, suffered puncture wounds to a lung in the attack.

Police were called to Derby Street, near Bolton Institute's Student Union, at 3.15pm yesterday.

Det Insp Mo Shafiq, from Bolton Police, said the man is in a serious but stable condition in the Royal Bolton Hospital.

Four men were arrested by police at the scene. They are all from Bolton and aged in their 20s. They were all due to be questioned by detectives at Bolton Central Police Station today.
