Name: Amigo
Line-up: Robs - Bass, Adi - Guitars, Nick - Vocals & Guitar, Mark - Drums.
History: Things began to fall into place around September. I aquired the guys from other bands who weren't really going anywhere.
Style: We're pretty unpredictable, really, but agreed on epic rock'n'roll. We've finished gigs in a collision of guitar smashing, then the next week the guys just walked off leaving me to finish with a tranquil solo. The songs are passionate and alluring.
Influences: Our influences range from Joy Division to Weezer. We're all really into Nirvana.
Which band/artist would you most like to support? I would have liked to have seen lan Curtis play live. To have been around in Bolton when Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto went to Bolton Institute, or the first Sex Pistols gig in Manchester.
If you could cover one song, what would it be? I would like to do something new, something by The Strokes or Electric Soft Parade. Or You Shouldn't Let The Side Down, by Hoggboy.
Realistic ambition for the year? We're attempting to play a gig a week over the summer. We're recording some songs towards our next EP soon, so some success for that maybe.
Wildest dream: To be revolutionaries! Nah, don't know really. To achieve our potential, make a legendary album, something like that.
Why should we come and see you? Why not? Because you have the choice!
Amigo play the Gypsy's Tent next Thursday.
