FIREFIGHTERS were called out twice to a diesel spill last night in Halliwell.
Diesel had spilled from machinery at a factory on Valletts Lane. Crews attended the scene at 7.30pm and 9.30pm to apply sand after the diesel had spilled onto the main road.
Crews were also called to a car fire at a park in Great Lever this morning at 4.30pm. A Vauxhall Senator was set alight after hitting a toilet block at Heywood Park. Firefighters had to break into the toilet to stop the cistern from leaking.
A hose reel was used to put out the blaze and crews were at the scene for 40 minutes.
