I FEEL I must write this letter to put any prospective members of Breightmet Golf Club in the picture as to what will happen if the club is turned into 18 holes as planned.
At first, the owner of Nab Gate Farm said that the original plans would not affect the tenant farmer, and it would "still remain a working farm."
Guess what? The owner now wants all the land, and the tenant farmer out of the farmhouse.
This is the farmer who has put 43 years, seven days a week into that farm, and anyone who has passes there will witness how much of his life he has put into it.
I am not condemning golfers for enjoying the sport they play. But I would just like them to take a step back and take a look at what is going to happen to this farmer and the farm itself.
