AN 18-year-old pedestrian is fighting for his life in hospital after being in collision with a car in Bolton. Robert Chadwick from Brief Street, Tonge Moor, was on Blackburn Road, Astley Bridge, near to the junction with Sweetloves Lane when the accident happened.
He suffered serious head injuries after colliding with a Fiat Uno at 11.30pm last night. The teenager is in the intensive care unit at the Royal Bolton Hospital where his condition is described as serious. The driver of the car Nicholas Kay, also aged 18, from Longridge, Bromley Cross, was not injured. Bolton traffic unit is appealing for witnesses to call 0161 856 5972.
