FACTORY bosses may be asked to reconsider their plan for three warehouses after a councillor raised concerns about how close they would be to people's homes.
Cllr Pauline Spencer told Bolton's planning committee it would be wrong to let Sutcliffes in Weston Street build the industrial units 10 metres from houses.
She said housing plans had been turned down because they were 17 metres from people's homes.
"How can we recommend an industrial scheme 10 metres away from residents' houses and then turn down an application for homes that are 17 metres away?" she said.
"I am appalled that we do not have any guidelines on this issue."
Cllr Nick Peel said he supported the firm's plan "in principle", but said the applicant should come back with more information before the next planning meeting.
He added: "I cannot support refusal but I think that if we defer this application a better proposal will come back."
