DAMIEN Murphy pleaded guilty to two charges of shoplifting. Bury magistrates were told that he had stolen a can of beer and meat from two shops.
Murphy, aged 31, of Wincanton Avenue, Brooklands, Manchester, said he was a drug user and alcoholic and had stolen to feed himself. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £55 costs and £10 compensation.
