JUBILEE FEAST: A medical team which has been working through the Jubilee holiday has enjoyed their own mini-celebration, thanks to a gift from Lotto, formerly the National Lottery. Lotto sent a food hamper to the medical assessment unit at the Royal Bolton Hospital, some of whom are pictured above. The 22-bed unit has been staffed by nine nurses and five other medical staff while most people enjoyed time off for the Jubilee.
The medical assessment unit treats patients with emergency conditions referred to them by GPs, and the Accident and Emergency Unit.
Sue Murray, acting head of nursing, said: "It is very difficult for people having to work when they know their colleagues and families have time off. It's nice to be treated like royalty."
