A FORMER Bolton man played a key role in the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations when he conducted the military parade at Windsor Castle.
Former St Cuthbert's School pupil Michael McDermott, whose mother Alice still lives in Breightmet, now works as a bandmaster and staff arranger to the Royal Marine Band.
He co-ordinated and conducted a musical extravaganza at Windsor Castle, shown live on BBC1 yesterday.
He has also written a musical tribute to the Queen for her Golden Wedding in 1997.
