AIR passengers who pack sharp objects like nail files and penknives in their hand luggage are being asked to throw them away in new bins at Manchester Airport.
From today six large wheelie bins are being put into Terminals 1 and 2, so travellers can dump dangerous items before catching their flight.
Since September 11 government regulations ban any sharp objects in hand luggage and security staff have confiscated 170,000 items since that date.
