MIGHT I draw your attention to an eyesore which needs to be addressed.

The road signs in the town are in a very sorry state. In nearly all cases, they are dirty, and in many cases they are coated with a green slime as a result of the wet winter.

They could all do with a clean, as they present a picture of a run-down town, and something should be done about it before the start of the Commonwealth Games.

In an effort to start something, I recently cleaned the signs at roads in my immediate vicinity.

So come on you people of Bolton. Get out and clean your road signs at street level.

It will boost your morale no end when you get home each evening to admire a clean, white sign.
