A HISTORIC music hall in Worsley will finally be demolished if a developer's plan is approved tomorrow night.
Salford Council sold Pembroke Halls to Liverpool and Lancashire Properties last year along with the adjoining Ellesmere Centre.
The developer wants to knock down the hall in the High Street and build a 6,800 square metre shopping centre linked to the rest of the shopping complex next door.
A planning application will go before the council's planning and transportation regulatory panel tomorrow night for a decision.
It is recommended for approval providing several conditions are met such as providing samples of the building materials which will be used.
The 36-year-old music hall was one of the best in the North-west in its heyday.
Acts to play there included the Bay City Rollers, Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders, The Searchers, Lulu, Edwin Starr and Gerry and the Pacemakers.
More than 500 people went to the final concert by The Drifters last March. Most staff from the hall found alternative jobs working for the council.
