DIRTY loos need not apply as the race to find Britain's best public toilet is launched.
Judges are searching for the best public conveniences and are inviting members of the public to come up with nominations for the Cannon Hygiene Loo of the Year Awards -- now in its 15th year.
Awards director Richard Chisnell said: "The quality of toilets away from home is a key concern to everyone."
There are 18 different entry categories which cover all types of facility in shops, pubs, schools, hospitals and offices, as well as those provided by local authorities.
Anyone can nominate a loo -- owners, staff, customers or visitors -- via the Loo of the Year Awards 24-hour hotline on 01962 850277 before July 31 and the results will be announced at the end of November.
Last year's overall British winner was national pub chain JD Wetherspoon.
