A FIRM whose job advert was banned because it asked for a "friendly" catering manager has still not found the recruit it is looking for.
As reported in the Bolton Evening News, the wording of the advert fell victim to strict Job Centre regulations.
The controversy attracted national media attention. Marketing Manager, Caroline Bevington, of Travel Counsellors, Churchgate, said: "The support we have received has been great.
The national company, had contacted Job Centre Plus to advertise the position of part-time catering manager.
The role was created so staff could have meals during the World Cup -- with a view to making the position permanent after the tournament.
The company hoped to employ someone who would enjoy serving food and who would mix well with the team.
But job centre staff took exception to the word "friendly" and said it may discriminate against some applicants.
Caroline added: "It was such a surprise when the phones started ringing. And none of the interest has been negative.
"Everyone agreed that the decision was unbelievable."
Travel Counsellors are still on the look out for their catering manager, and have had outside caterers prepare food during the World Cup games so far.
