A HORWICH secondary school has won an award for its relationship with the community.
St Joseph's High has been presented with the Schools Curriculum Award after an assessment from an independent panel which has been running the scheme for the past 20 years.
The Chorley New Road school was especially singled out for its close working relationship with Firwood Special School where pupils have been creating a sensory garden.
Headteacher Leo Conley said: "Although the school faces many of the same pressures confronting other schools, we found it invaluable to list the many ways in which our pupils' learning is directly or indirectly enhanced by our partnership with so many different individuals and organisations in the outside world."
