STAFF at the Royal Bolton Hospital put out a fire after a patient accidentally set a bin alight early today in a ward in N Block when smoke poured in from a corridor.
A patient is thought to have dropped a cigarette into a bin that had rubbish inside.
The rubbish set alight but staff had put out the flames when the fire brigade arrived.
Firefighters from Bolton Central and Farnworth used fans to ventilate the corridor before the patients were allowed back inside.
