THE Trades Union Congress is lobbying the Government to allocate more money for regenerating the North-west.
It wants the Chancellor to allocate around £70million to the North West Development Agency.
Gordon Brown will decide soon how much money regional development agencies will have to spend.
The unions say the money could boost the region's economy, reduce above-average unemployment and tackle what they call the area's pockets of poverty.
