I have just read an article in the Bolton Evening News re: Saturday night fever at the hospital and feel I must compliment you on bringing to the public's attention a recurring situation which is absolutely unacceptable.
My wonderful husband of 51 years is at this moment fighting for life in the intensive care unit and the dedication of the medical staff is beyond belief.
What is happening to our society when people like Mr Hobbiss (my husband's surgeon) carry on working impossible hours with complete dedication and caring and are overlooked?
I agree that people who abuse the system should lose their rights. We have tried the softly, softly approach for too long and it just doesn't work.
Who on earth would want to train to be either a doctor or a teacher in this society?
These were professions which formerly commanded the highest respect but now are so vulnerable in a "let's sue 'em" society.
Keep up the good work.
