SUSPECTS are being brought before magistrates at night in a pilot scheme being launched in Manchester.
Two courts will sit from 4pm to 8pm at Manchester City Magistrates Court until the end of September. They will deal only with motoring offences and cases unlikely to result in prison sentences. The scheme is part of a Government initiative to speed up the justice system. Night courts are also being piloted in London.
