A HEROIN addict's blood was found on a broken window at the scene of a burglary, a court heard.
A DNA profile of the blood matched it to that of Daniel Clayton, who was already in custody for a previous similar offence.
Clayton, aged 20, formerly of Moorside Avenue, Farnworth, appeared at Bolton Crown Court yesterday for sentence and admitted attempted burglary. He asked for one offence of attempting to burgle Farnworth Cricket Club on February 3 to be taken into consideration. Prosecutor Ann Hughes said that Clayton had left behind traces of blood on a broken kitchen window at a house in Parkfield Avenue, Farnworth, on January 29.
An alarm deterred Clayton from taking anything. He had subsequently been sent to custody for another burglary.
Clayton is currently serving a 22-month sentence at a Young Offenders' Institution for burglary and failing to surrender to bail.
Judge Elliott Knopf said he had been impressed by the good prison reports on Clayton's progress and decided to sentence him to six months concurrent with his present sentence.
