A TRACTION engine which made its debut at the Royal Lancashire Show exactly 100 years ago is set to return to celebrate its centenary.
The Burrell traction engine, named General Buller, was built in 1902 by Charles Burrell and Sons -- one of the world's premier manufacturers of traction engines.
It is returning to the Chorley show after being renovated and given a clean bill of health, allowing it to steam into the 21st century.
More than 50,000 visitors are expected to descend on Astley Park, Chorley, on July 26 to 28.
