THE lunatics have finally taken over the asylum.
The burglar suing jailed farmer Tony Martin for wounding him has been given thousands of pounds in legal aid to help his claim.
Brendon Fearon has a long criminal record but wants cash compensation for the injuries he sustained in the raid on Martin's remote farmhouse three years ago.
Tony Martin, you may recall, shot dead Fearon's 16-year-old accomplice Fred Barras, and is currently serving a five year, reduced sentence for this and three years for wounding Fearon.
I'm not sure what the rules are on legal aid, but it's obvious that Fearon does.
It is a complete nonsense that a convicted burglar can seek any form of redress against their intended victim, and a cause of shame for the British legal system that this is able to happen.
