A RESCUE team from Bolton helped guide police to a body found by children on a cliff face in dense woodland.
Fourteen volunteers from Bolton Mountain Rescue Team were called to the wood off Great Clowes Street, Higher Broughton, Salford.
Police needed their help to clear a path through the woods to the badly decomposed body, which two children found on Monday night.
The team used ropes to cordon off the scene and worked until 1am making a clearing around the body and erecting a tent to serve as the investigation base for police.
Police are treating the discovery as suspicious and were today continuing to try to identify the remains and establish a cause of death.
