A FAMILY are still desperate to find their missing pet buzzard, Purdy, who disappeared more than two weeks ago.
Father-of-three Paul Hunt made an appeal in the Bolton Evening News for people to be on the lookout for his tame 23-year-old bird of prey which disappeared from the aviary in the back garden of Mr Hunt's home in Lostock Lane, Lostock. But despite receiving more than 20 phone calls reporting sightings of the bird, the Hunt family have still not been re-united with their feathered friend.
Mr Hunt said: "Even though we have had a lot of calls, the bird has still not turned up.
"If anybody sees Purdy, or knows where she is, please give me a call." Paul is offering a £100 reward for the safe return of Purdy, who has brown feathers apart from a beige brown breast and yellow feet. She has a four-foot wingspan and was wearing an IBR bird ring and anklets.
Paul can be contacted on 07980 982183 or on 01942 810800.
