HAYDOCK Park is gearing up for its annual Sunday family funday - with the attraction of one of the highest-class horse races of the weekend.
It follows the racecourse's highest attendance of the year so far last Saturday when almost 15,000 people came racing.
On Sunday, entertainment is being lined up for families off the track. On it, some of the major contenders for the final Classic of the season - the St Leger - will be running over one and a half miles.
Jelani, who won at Haydock last September on his racecourse debut, caused an upset when running so well at Epsom behind this summer's hotshots High Chaparral and Hawk Wing, while Nysaean was the best performing British-trained horse in the Irish Derby at The Curragh.
General manager Adam Waterworth said: "We really do see some of the best horses running at Haydock at this time of year. And Sunday is no exception - the feature race has a real feel of quality about it.
"But the day is not just about racing. We're laying on family entertainment including magicians, clowns, face painters and a bouncy castle, so that everyone can enjoy a relaxing Sunday out."
Advance tickets for all race meetings at Haydock are available by calling 01942 402624.
