Wanderers are hoping to begin talks with Youri Djorkaeff this week to try and extend his stay at the Reebok.

The French ace has been linked with a move to United Arab Emirates side Al Ain, but he denies speaking with representatives from the Middle East club.

With Bolton still trying to bring in Taribo West, and in the process of agreeing a new one-year deal with skipper Gudni Bergsson, they now hope to sit down with Djorkaeff over the next few days.

The player himself was concerned about Wanderers' commitment to bringing in world class stars, but will be impressed with the signing of Jay Jay Okocha and Bulent Akin, as well as the pursuit of West.

Djorkaeff has recently admitted: "The trend is more likely to stay in Bolton."
