BRADSHAW Hall Fisheries was the venue for the Broughton Anglers Junior match with 30 young stars of the future taking part.
Arron Applegate is seen as one future big circuit contender and his past triumphs have brought him sponsorship by Trobuko Technique.
On Saturday the 14-year-old angler did not let his backers down by winning the match using floating pole with paste, pellet and corn to take a massive carp haul of 96lbs-8ozs.
In second place was 13-year-old Ryan Ball, who fished similar methods to take 46lbs-8ozs. Dean Murphy was third with 32lbs-4ozs.
The senior matchmen fished two matches on number four lodge and Marvin Hyde (Apollo Motors) led the way from an unfancied peg six. He caught carp on floating pole and rattler tactics with pellet on the hook to finish with 103lbs-0oz. Second place went to Paul Slee (Macey's Aces) fishing bag up waggler and took 99lbs-0oz. Also fishing bag up waggler was Tony Birchall (Co-op AC) and he finished third with 79lb-12oz.
The evening match saw Paul Slee (Macey's Aces), fishing from an in form peg 13, better his day time result and entered the ton masters match in style finishing with an outstanding 119lbs-0oz in just three hours. Second place went to Steve Bradley (Team EPM), fishing floating pole, caught 74lb-8ozand in thirdrd place, Gary Taylor (Abu Garcia Wigan) finished with 72lb-8oz on similar tactics.
