CHORLEY and District Sea Anglers fished for flounder and eels at Preston Trax Centre on the Ribble in overcast conditions with rain and a southerly breeze throughout.
Matchwinner Sherryl Bellfield showed the lads how to do it by bagging up with 12 flounder for 8lb-2oz. She also shared heaviest flat fish prize with Paul Jackson, each with a 1lb flounder. Runner up was Sherryl's partner Gary Beasley with sev en flounder and two eels for 6lb-14oz. Current club top rod Alan Smith sneaked into third place with a late run of seven flounder for 4lb 13oz.
Most fish came on the ebb-tide with fishing slowing over high water with several good eels exceeding 1lb landed.
.The club welcomes new members including ladies and juniors. It holds monthly league matches on the Mersey and Dee estuaries, summer matches on the Ribble as well as autumn and winter cod and whiting sessions at Blackpool.
