CREATIVE children in Bury are inviting the whole town along to see what they have been doing.
Over the last school term, pupils in the Redvales area, the majority aged between three and five years old, have been working with professional artists to create a range of work.
Their efforts have involved a variety of techniques from felt making and silk painting, to weaving, drawing, painting, music making, sculpture and three dimensional work.
An exhibition of their work has now been officially opened at Bury Art Gallery. It runs until the end of August.
The project was based at a number of locations, including Fishpool Primary After School Club, Park Private Day Nursery, Little Acorns Pre-School, Holy Trinity Primary and St Thomas's Primary. Funding came from the Redvales-based Surestart scheme and Bury Early Years Development Childcare Partnership with support from Bury, Bolton and Rochdale Artists in Schools Initiative and Bury Art Gallery.
Bury Council's Early Years spokesman, Cllr John Costello, said: "Schemes like this give the children concerned a chance not to just stretch their own imaginations, but to learn skills that will stand them in good stead for the years to come."
