NEITHER the King nor the Queen went to Ascot Races yesterday. The Press Association's Windsor correspondent telegraphs that the King and Queen went for a drive through the park during the afternoon. They were in an open carriage drawn by a pair of greys. The King was looking well and smilingly acknowledged the salutations which greeted him and the Queen as they drove down the Long Walk, where a number of people had assembled. They were absent close on two hours.

The Press Association is authorised to state that, in anticipation of the severe strain to which the King will be subjected during the Coronation festivities, his medical advisers have recommended him to forego all public engagements during the next few days. The Press Association is informed by Dr Warre, headmaster of Eton College, that he received a notification this afternoon that the King's visit to Eton on Saturday has been postponed.
