AN exhibition is being staged at Turton Tower to mark the start of the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games.
Bradshaw swimmer, heart and lung transplant survivor, Robert Hodgkiss, is being featured in the display which tells the story of swimming over the past 100 years.
Mr Hodgkiss has just returned from the European Transplant Games with three gold medals after competing in the track, field and swimming events.
The exhibition, called Swim, features paintings of swimming pools by David Hockney, a DVD filmed at the Manchester Aquatic Centre of swimmers from the region and other collections. Fans of swimming are also adding to the collection as they visit the display.
The exhibition runs until October 22 when it will go on a tour of the north west.
