LANCASHIRE hit further trouble after Neil Fairbrother and Graham Lloyd had dominated the West Indies A pace attack at Liverpool.

Fairbrother, who hammered the 47th first class century of his career, and acting captain Lloyd piled up 158 for the third wicket.

But then it all went badly downhill with three run-outs in succession.

Fairbrother was beaten by a direct hit at the bowler's and but Lloyd and Ryan Driver were both the victims of misunderstandings.

Only Mike Smethurst got into double figures after that and Lancashire collapsed from 232-3 to 279 all out, giving the Windies a lead of 90. They extended that to 128 without loss.

Manager Mike Watkinson said: "One run-out is bad enough, to have three on the trot takes some beating."

But at least Fairbrother and Lloyd ended their lean spells, good news for Lancashire an they approach the relegation Roses battle at Headingley next week.

Stuart Law is hoping to give them another boost by recovering from a thumb injury for Sunday's Norwich Union League clash with Derbyshire at Blackpool. But Glen Chapple in still out with a side strain -- his target is the Roses match.
