THE Litten Tree is the newest arrival to Leigh's pub scene and is already firmly making its mark on the town.
The sport-themed bar opened in Lord Street, in Leigh town centre, eight weeks ago and attracts a steady stream of young and livelies revelling in the bustling weekend atmosphere, as well as numerous curious locals sampling the vast array of quality cuisine on offer.
Specialising in live sport, the Litten Tree boasts a big-screen as well as two 32-inch wide-screen TVs and two smaller screens located in individual booths. All sporting needs are catered for -- with everything from World Cup football and Wimbledon to golf and rugby being shown at all times of the day.
Day times at the brightly decorated modern bar take on a more laid-back feel, with special offers on coffees and Danish pastries providing the perfect compliment to the relaxed atmosphere.
Food is served daily until an hour before closing and customers can choose from an extensive menu offering everything from baguettes and burgers to the more traditional fish and chips or lasagne. A daily specials board features additional dishes, while the value menu offers two selected meals for £5.99. A children's menu is also available.
Variety
The Litten Tree has a varied weekly entertainment programme, with a sports and music quiz on Mondays, karaoke on Wednesdays and Sundays, ladies night with bargain cocktails on Thursdays, and a disco with live DJ on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Live 80s and retro bands feature on the first Thursday of each month.
A summer sale on selected drinks runs from 2pm to 7pm Monday to Thursday and all day on a Tuesday. A discount card is also available for anyone working in the retail business. This can be used on Wednesdays to receive 15 per cent off all food and drink.
The Litten Tree has a smart/casual dress code, with no baseball caps allowed and is open 11am-midnight Monday to Thursday, 11am to 1am Friday and Saturday and noon to 12.30am Sunday.
