CONSERVATIVE MEP Sir Robert Atkins has condemned a European Parliament vote on heavy lorries as "unworkable".
Sir Robert criticised the European Parliament's approval of a weekend and public holiday ban on HGVs across Europe's continental main road -- commonly called the Trans-European Network.
He said: "The proposal is unworkable on many counts. Holidays differ across the EU."
He added that it could have "heavy consequences" for export.
