A FORMER Bolton policeman has been ordained to the priesthood. The Rev David Schofield will serve as a curate in the parish of St Mark, Derby.
Mr Schofield, was brought up in Hall i' th' Wood and worked as a policeman. He attended St Aidan's Church as a boy and later became involved at St Augustine's Church, Tonge Moor.
After his police service he moved to the Midlands with his wife, Lilian, and trained for the non-stipendiary ministry.
