SPORT fans are to be encouraged to visit Bolton town centre during the Commonwealth Games.
Information points will be set up close to event sites, showing spectators the best routes into town and Bolton's main attractions.
Staff dressed in the Commonwealth Games' distinctive yellow and purple uniform will deal with queries. The information points will be at:
Car Park B at the Reebok stadium between Friday, July 26, and Sunday, August 4;
The Crown roundabout on Chorley New Road on Saturday, July 27, and Saturday, August 3;
Rivington and Blackrod High School on Saturday, July 27, Monday, July 29 and Saturday, August 3;
Asda at the Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park from tomorrow until Thursday, July 25, the day the Games begin.
Bolton Council Leader Cllr Bob Howarth said: "It is vital to market the town to our visitors. Bolton has so much to offer and it's important the thousands of people who are expected to turn up are aware of the town's many other activities.
"This is a great initiative that will keep people informed so they can enjoy their visit to the full. The Games are going to be the event of a lifetime."
