A TEDDY bear of pure white carnations was a poignant tribute laid to mark the short life of murdered prostitute Danielle Moorcroft.

Friends and family shed tears as they said their final goodbyes at the funeral of the 21-year-old, a little more than a month after her partially-dressed body was found in bushes on a dimly-lit car park behind Bolton Community College.

A heroin addict, she was around 14 weeks pregnant and had been battered to death.

A card in the poignant floral wreath, laid beside her white coffin by Danielle's grieving mother Mary, read: "My little Danni. Words cannot express the sorrow I feel after parting and I know you are in peace now in a beautiful garden with the angels.

"I will be with you every day."

Another card -- written in reference to Danielle's unborn son -- read: "To Callum. I'm sorry we never got to hold you in our arms, but you will be in your mother's forever.

"Stay safe in Danni's arms."

Today, murder squad detectives, who mingled with the mourners, repeated a plea for information in a bid to help catch Danielle's killer.

But for many, the short service yesterday at Anfield Crematorium, near to where Danielle lived until moving to Bolton two years ago, was too emotional.

Family members broke down in tears as they spoke of Danielle's tragic life.

They described her as a "a beautiful young woman who had all her life ahead of her and everything to live for."

Wiping back tears, one said: "We will remember the good times and we will never forget you Danielle.

"Both you and Callum have been taken from us and we pray you are both now at peace."

The minister added: "We are gathered here today to celebrate the life of Danielle, Danni, and her son Callum.

"She has been tragically taken from us but she will remain in the hands of her family and friends."

Danielle was last seen getting into a dark black car on a slip road leading to Trinity Way Retail Park.

Det Supt Patsy Wood, leading the murder hunt, said: "Information is coming in slowly. I can understand some people do not want their friends and family to know they use prostitutes or frequent the area.

"But I cannot stress how important it is that we speak to anyone who may be able to help us catch the person who murdered Danielle."
